This product comes from a good friend Highly recommended, I finally ordered it and can't stop wearing it! Extremely comfortable, looks great, fit is perfect and it works! I live in New Hampshire and work outside and this keeps me free to move and stay warm! I will be getting more! Mike
I'm 5'9 180lbs I purchase size XL and it fits with extra room to fit a larger person. I would say this fits nicely due to the stretchyness but anyone smaller than me should get a smaller size. I really like these. I'm going to buy some of the lighter weight ones to have options on days when it's not as cold.
I guess I first fell in love with merino wool about 6 or 7 years ago. I work outdoors and need low profile base layers for harsh winter conditions. I think Smartwool was my first shirt- being a longtime textile nerd, I fell in love with the feel and hand of the fabric, and the technical aspects, like heat regulation, and the ability to retain heat even when wet, made it the best material to be against my skin. Over the years I have verified all of these properties. Anyhow, I wear I pair of Sheep Run 400g bottoms every morning just to warm up. They are some of my most prized possessions. If my house were to burn down, these would be one of the first things I would think of.
Looking for a base layer for my Mountain Bike riding in the cold....Very happy with the purchase, able to wear my elbow pads under the shirt.
Went a ride today, 41deg and wet, wore the merino wool, tee shirt and light jacket, ended up having to unzip the jacket.
Comfortable, wears well. Great under layer, for every day use as well as more extreme outdoor activities.
